Congratulations to Set Decorator Lisa K. Nilsson SDSA and fellow 41st Daytime Creative Emmy awards nominees & winners!
The 41st Annual Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards
Congratulations to Set Decorator Lisa K. Nilsson SDSA for a rare double win at the Daytime Emmy Awards!
In the surprise of the evening worthy of a soap opera storyline, there was a tie for Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction/Set Decoration/Scenic Design for a Drama Series.
Nilsson is the Set Decorator for both award winners ALL MY CHILDREN and ONE LIFE TO LIVE. She shared the awards with Production Designer Tim Goodmanson, Art Director Martin Fahrer and additional Set Decorator Sarah Fredericks.
The dual award seems even more appropriate in context, as Nilsson points out, “For the revival of these two iconic soaps, we shared the sets and switched wallpapers/ walls/ furnishings as we shot in the same stage in the same spaces. We shot 40 episodes of ALL MY CHILDREN and 40 episodes of ONE LIFE TO LIVE from March through June of 2013.”

“It truly was an amazing team effort and could not have been done without the creative genius and leadership of Tim Goodmanson,” Nilsson acknowledges, “as well as the collaboration of art director Martin Fahrer and my wonderful assistant set decorators Sarah Fredericks, Susan Kaufman SDSA, Rich Murray and Deborah Greene, my lead man Brad Klipp and his set dressing crew, our charge scenic Alex Garzero and his fantastic crew, and our art department coordinator Stephanie Abbaspour.”
