In a Few Words...
Which talent would you most like to have?
I wish I had the talent to speak several languages. I loved it On STAR TREK when they were all able to understand the different dialects and alien languages; I believe they called it a universal translator. It would be great to go to any country and be able to converse with them in their language.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
I believe my relationship with my sister is my greatest achievement. Despite our age difference of 15 years, we are best friends and often take vacations together. We are extremely close and I spent a lot of time talking and getting to know her as she was growing up. After my Dad died at the young age of 55, we bonded and were there for each other. We were each raised as an only child since I left home when I was 17 and she was only 2. She has been my biggest supporter and I hers, and I am so thankful she is in my life every day.

Which word or phrase do you most overuse?

I honestly cannot think of a word or phrase that I overuse. I do like the phrase "Walk the walk don't talk the talk," but I do not overuse it. I like the word "Cool" when referring to something I like. But lately, I have been saying "No worries" more often than in the past. The phrase I dislike is "Whatever" which I believe is a negative response most of the time.

What do you look for on the Craft Services table?
I am rarely at the craft service table since I am usually somewhere else preparing for the next set. However, I try to look for food that is healthy. I like raw carrots, hard-boiled eggs, raw almonds, and gum. I really try to stay away from the sweets and carbs. However, if there is ice cream...I'm a sucker for ice cream!

Please name a benefit of being an SDSA member.
For me, the biggest benefit is meeting other decorators and connecting with them. Since there is usually only 1 decorator on a film, you rarely get a chance to exchange ideas or just vent with other decorators. Also, I have met other buyers, set dressers, and business members through the SDSA. I love the support we give each other and the exchanging of information and references. I have made many new friends through the SDSA. One of the great benefits of the SDSA is that it provides a venue where members can go and talk about any problems they are experiencing on a project. This type of sharing can be highly therapeutic.
