We’ll have a full article with exciting never-yet-seen photos in the very, very, very near future,
but to give STAR WARS fans a treat, here are a couple of snippets that Set Decorator Rosemary Brandenburg SDSA generously shares, with a bit of a twinkle in her eye!
A peek at…
...the Rebel Base
jungle set with the huge spaceship built overhead...
"We had an enormous job there as Construction did the shell, we built and applied all the detail. We also did Rey’s
cave, with her work area where she was building her own Jedi
saber, and Leia’s
cave. We shot this on a huge stage at Pinewood, with additional footage at a park by Pinewood which we turned into a jungle, Did you notice our custom made huge camo nets overhead?"
…the exterior of the Star Destroyer
"I had a crew working for 6 months out at the blimp hangar where we shot the battle scene with the alien horses running.
So much of that set is all real, in camera: it was 200’ long and 40’ high. Set dec did a huge amount of the detail on it!”
...Kylo Ren's Star Destroyer
interior was spread over 3 large stages, with changeovers on each:
white chamber - Set dec also provided a huge contribution here, look closely…
The big black Conference Room
was a triumph. I designed the chairs and the conference table and we added a ton of detail everywhere.
The hallways and huge Landing Bay
were on a much larger scale and more elaborate than they’ve ever been done before…."
[More details on these soon!]
…The city of Kijimi…
"This was an amazing total design and build on the backlot at Pinewood.
Exteriors and interiors.
workshop, AKA the Droid Shop
or Babu Frick’s
workshop, was one of our favorite sets.

Much more to come!
The Festival on the desert planet Pasaana
, the ruined Death Star, the legacy sets reproduced, such as the Millenium Falcon
, the Skywalker
home on Tatooine
...and so much more!
See you on the other side of the New Year…
