San Diego Comic-Con: Update
The Set Decorators Society of America had its biggest year yet at San Diego Comic-Con 2025! This year, we presented not one, but two panels on set decoration, featuring several Set Decorators and their iconic projects.
Thursday started strong with a panel called "Set Decorators of the Sci-Fi World" moderated by RaeDeslich SDSA and Michelle Hall SDSA. The panelists were Cynthia Slagter SDSA discussing her work on ELECTRIC DREAMS, Kelsi Ephraim SDSA discussing the sci-fi aspects of EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE, and Cal Loucks SDSA presenting her work on DUNE: PROPHECY.
The room was 100% full, with a 100+ person standby line of attendees trying to get in!
Friday featured the Set Decorators of beloved witch TV shows AGATHA ALL ALONG, decorated by Mónica Monserrate SDSA, and AMERICAN HORROR STORY:COVENwith Set Decoration by Ellen Brill SDSA.
The panel was again fully packed, with a standby line of dedicated fans waiting to hear the presentation.
The audience was incredibly enthusiastic about Set Decoration, had great questions in the Q&A section at the end of each panel, and left with an increased understanding and appreciation of Set Decoration.
Both panels were supported by PrernaChawla SDSA and Lizzie Boyle SDSA, who, along with Rae and Michelle, are the working committee that coordinates and organizes these panels about SDSA Set Decoration at fan conventions.
We welcome any SDSA members who would like to join our group and look forward to our next conventions in 2026!
