The Art of Production Design

On the afternoon before the Oscars®, the always popular panel discussion by
Production Designers and Set Decorators who were nominated for the
2017 Academy Award for Achievement in Production Design
was held at the Egyptian Theater, just steps from the rehearsals for the
upcoming ceremony.

Presented by American Cinematheque in association with the Art Directors Guild and
the Set Decorators Society of America, and sponsored by The Hollywood Reporter, the panel was moderated by Production Designer Thomas A. Walsh, former ADG president and Set Decorator Jan Pascale SDSA, a Governor of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, who made it much more interesting and fun than their formal titles imply!

OLD N COUNTRY PROP SHOP

We are a family run prop house specializing in Americana and East Coast vintage studio rentals.

Originally from the Philadelphia area, our collection has been growing over the last 30+ years. Until recently, we’ve kept them to ourselves while working under Local 44, but we’ve decided to ship the pieces across the country, and take some time off to dedicate ourselves to focus on providing helpful and friendly service to everyone that walks through our door.

We can send photos, specs, or pricing via email or phone upon request.

We can deliver for a small fee.

In a Few Words...

Which talent would you most like to have?
I can't wait for teleportation... or to be in three places at once...or cloning myself, which seems to be a requirement these days (whichever comes first!)

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Juggling this fun hectic work, yet managing to have a great marriage and two wonderful healthy sons.

Which word or phrase do you most overuse?
"Do you think we can...?"

What do you look for on the Craft Services table?
Something healthy. Not always easy in NY.

Please name a benefit of being an SDSA member.
I love the diversity of the members and their amazing talents and skill sets. I am so inspired by an organization of peers who just get it DONE! ...and are so proficient at what we all are asked to accomplish in a short time with challenging budgets.
