Marvin March SDSA Born, May 8.1930
Marvin March, legendary Set Decorator, passed away October 28, 2022. Highly respected not only for his work in widely diverse productions, he was also a kind and generous Gentleman bringing visibility to the art of Set Decoration.
Mr. March began his career in 1964 working in both television and film before transitioning exclusively to feature films. Through his remarkable body of work, Marvin received 5 Academy Award Nominations and served, with distinction, as the Set Decoration Governor for Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Marvin was also the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from The Set Decorators Society of America, an organization of which he was a founding member.
Upon retirement in 1998, Mr. March continued to be involved in the world of Set Decoration giving his time and knowledge to the history and education of the art of the cinematic craft.
