The Set Decorators Society of America’s membership reflects those people whose diverse talents and expertise make our craft work in front of and behind the camera.
Set Decorators, Assistant Set Decorators, Buyers, Leads, Set Dressers and Coordinator members who work on the front line of production.
Business members whose products and services fuel our vision and sets.
Retired Set Decorators whose experience and expertise are the foundation of our craft.
Honorary members who have provided immeasurable support to the SDSA’s mission.

Select The SDSA Membership Level That's Right For You
Set Decorator Membership Requirements:
A resume documenting at least two years experience working exclusively as a Set Decorator
Credits may include a combination of formats to be considered by the Board of Directors
The Board may consider a qualified body of work that warrants an exception to the above requirements
Television: 20 hours minimum, composed of single and/or multiple camera projects. Screen credit as Set Decorator
Film: Minimum of three features, released to theaters, streaming and/or DVD. Screen credit as Set Decorator
Commercials/Music Videos: Minimum of 10 national commercials and/or larger-scale music videos
Three Professional references. Two of your references must be SDSA members, either Set Decorator, Associate or Business members. If you're not acquainted with any SDSA Members, contact us for a personal interview with a SDSA Member Sponsor. The third reference may be a SDSA member, industry professional, colleague, designer or vendor.
NOTE: if your Set Decoration credits do not yet meet these criteria, we welcome you to apply for Associate Membership. As your career builds, you can transition to full Set Decorator Membership status.

Applications will not be processed without payment of the one-time, non-refundable $25 Processing Fee.

Annual dues are determined per category of Business membership ranging from individual artists to intermediate sized businesses to large film studios:
Individual Business (0 employees) Annual Dues: $325
Small Business (10 employees or less) Annual Dues: $500
Educational, Non-Profit, Not for Profit or Charity: $500
Intermediate Business (11-20 employees) Annual Dues: $850
Large Business (21-100 employees) Annual Dues: $1000
Union Business Annual Dues: $2000
Studio/Production Company Annual Dues: $2000
Corporate Business Annual Dues: $2500
