SDSA General Membership Meeting
October 21st, 2021
It was tricks and treats with a bloody good time enjoyed by all who zoomed in for the haunted October gathering. The evening was hosted by SDSA Business Members
Eileen and B.J. Winslow and the crew from Dapper Cadaver.
With Dark & Stormy potions in hand, vampires, witches and ghoulish creatures caught up with each other, enjoyed a few rounds of Halloween Heads-Up and Halloween Never Have I Ever, and reminisced about set dressing that they've made out of bones!
SDSA President Laura Richarz and Executive Director Gene Cane brought us all up to date on SDSA business and news including the SDSA Awards and new member announcements.
Congratulations to the winner of the costume contest, Ron Franco, as Count von Count, the counting vampire from Sesame Street. Very clever sir!
Thank you to Dapper Cadaver for again hosting the October meeting and bewitching us all!
In the spirit of the season, our members were looking a little... scary!
And the costume contest winner was....
1, 2, 3, 4, 5...
Count von Count!
(aka Ron Franco)
Congratulations and keep on Counting!

I wish that I was multilingual. Travel is my favorite
thing to do when I am not working and I wish that
I was able to communicate in lots of different languages.
What do you consider your greatest achievement? Personally, my kids!
Professionally, there are a couple of things that come to mind. Getting to serve on the Emmy PGEC (Peer Group Executive Committee) has been a tremendous honor. Barbara Cassel asked me to join the group and I am so glad that I did. It is deeply inspiring to work alongside so many talented peers.
Being nominated for (Hell's Kitchen) and winning an Emmy (for my work on MasterChef) was about as good as it gets in our biz!!! Getting called to the stage is one of those moments that stays with you for a lifetime.
Which word or phrase do you use the most?
Because I am a true Californian, "Dude!"
And, "When can I get the set?"
What do you look for on the Craft Services table?
Protein and fresh vegetables. And in the afternoon... chocolate!
Please name a benefit of being an SDSA member.
There are so many! Before joining SDSA, I felt like a lone wolf. Being a part of this group is incredible as I have networked and developed close friendships. I also have enjoyed volunteering my time for the Television Awards committee and look forward to doing more of this when I have free time.
