Atlanta Celebrates SDSA International with Bridge hosted Holiday Party
SDSA - Tuesday, January 8th, 5:26 pm
It was a Holiday Bash in Atlanta for the SDSA International as Bridge Furniture and Props Atlanta hosted a festive Holiday Gathering on Thursday December 6th.
Big thanks to South East Regional Vice President Carol Bayne Kelley and SDSA International Associate member Chase Helzer joining ATL Bridge GM Claire Foley in putting this event together.
A cool, crisp Thursday evening in Atlanta’s West Midtown region, Bridge opened up to a large contingent of Set Decorators, buyers and leadmen, quite a few set dressers and even some coordinators. The capacity crowd included not just local ATL Set Decs and crew, but a good number of guests from out of town including such far flung places as California, Florida, Texas, Massachusetts and New Mexico.
Bridge Furniture and Props owners David Wilson and Matt Hennessey flew in from New York for the occasion, as well bringing in Omar Romero from New York and JoAnn Vara from Los Angeles for full presence of their three prop houses across the country.
SDSA International Executive Director Gene Cane was also in attendance for the Holiday Festivities that included some delicious nibbles and bite-sized deserts...and specially crafted cocktails ”The Holly Jolly Shine” and “Bridge to the Holidays” made from Ole Smoky Apple Pie Moonshine, Ole Smoky Salted Caramel Whiskey and Moonshine Cherries, provided by Front Row Media.
The celebrating went on beyond the 9PM official end of party, with continued eating and drinking and catching up with old friends, and getting to know new ones. Door prizes were given throughout the evening to lucky winners. Despite the rumor making the rounds among guests, none of the many wonderful prizes was an actual door.
The event was successful due to the help of other SDSA International Business Members, and some local businesses looking to become members. The SDSA International hopes to play a part of the growing community of Set Decoration and crew as a tight knit collective of professionals to bolster friendships, fraternity and a preservation of the art of Set Decoration
Thank you to contributing Business Members and local vendors who helped make this evening a resounding success
